Electronics Recycle

UNI Computers is happy to have and ongoing partnership with Extreme Recycling Inc in an effort to help combat the hazardous waste risk that is inherit with throwing away old electronic equipment.


In a given month UNI Computers will turn over approximately 2500 lbs of unwanted electronic equipment to Extreme Recycling. Electronics that otherwise may have found their way into a landfill possibly causing harm to the environment.



The Numbers Don’t Lie.


Jan-Dec, 2009 breaks down as follows:

  • 16,889 lbs of Monitors Recycled.
  • 1,844 lbs of Computers Recycled.
  • 3,000 lbs of Televisions Recycled.
  • 9,297 lbs of other Electronic Devices Recycled.


  • That is a total of 15.515 TONS!


    When and Where Can I Bring My Electronics?
    Bring your unwanted electronic equipment to the Lawrence UNI Computers location at 23rd and Naismith (Between PartyAmerica and CopyCo).


    Cost

    To Cover the storage and handling costs that we must incur the following costs have been implemented.



  • Printers – $5
  • Computers – $5
  • Computer Monitors – $10
  • Televisions – $20

  • All other conventional electronics can be recycled free of charge.


  • Restrictions
    We are unable to recycle the following items at this time:

  • Industrial Sized Copiers/Printers.
  • Microwaves.
  • Major Appliances (stoves, washing machines, dryers, etc).
